Now that I have plugged the pod, I need to really share with you all why I am here. My goal and vision will be to provide a weekly blog on all things MANCHESTER UNITED AND ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE. The title of the blog as listed above is “United State of Man U”.  Most of you by now know that I have a genuine passion for Manchester United. This organically was meant to happen as my favorite goalkeeper of all time Tim Howard signed for United in 2003 during my senior year in high school. He was going to join the likes of Brad Friedel and Kasey Keller who were already overseas and crucial to the USMNT set up. It only made sense to jump on board and support Timmy Howard. I will admit I bought a Chelsea jersey in 2005, but I was at a weird stage in my life, plus I gave it away to my nephew back in like 2007. To this day there is not one picture of me ever wearing one so that’s good enough for me. Whether you are a United supporter, hater (all welcome) or just a fan of the game then this blog is for you.

This season in the English Premier league has already got off to a hot start. With 2 match weeks almost in the books, (only United and Liverpool remain in Monday’s fixture (8/22/22) this season has been off to a cracking start. Arsenal is perfect at the top of the table and oozing (please remember Arsenal was in dead last exactly a year ago) Gabriel Jesus has been a breath of fresh air and William Saliba looks like a true force in the back of the defense. Man City’s 3-3 draw with Newcastle coincided with Chelsea getting walloped 3 nil is just a sign that a Demogorgon might be lurking around. Leeds, Fulham, and Brighton have shown they are here to stay, and I can’t even be mad at that. For Fulham to put it on Liverpool, YLTSI. This is good for the league. Brighton opened the season with a humbling of Manchester United at Old Trafford. Yup. Still thinking about that beating. And Tommy Kaka chirping my ear off. Only to be followed the next week by a beating from Brentford, while hearing my 5-year-old son who is a Liverpool fan talk smack the whole game. Where did I go wrong?

Oh, and we haven’t even tapped into the best part, where the only thing coming out of my people’s mouths is Manchester United being in the basement. All I can really say to all of you is that the season is long. And I will admit, the team is in shambles, but how much worse can it really get? We are at the bottom and even if we don’t get a result vs Liverpool, I am still not worried. With 2 weeks left in the transfer window, and plenty of funds to spend I fully expect United to turn it around and get cracking under Erik ten Hag. Casemiro is confirmed and ready to run through a brick wall engulfed in flames, Antony from Ajax is up next. But if United does not make a move for a legitimate forward we could be in for it. Just having a bunch of wingers is not going to cut it. Martial rarely finishes a season, Rashford is buried, and who knows what Ronaldo will bring, if anything. I am here for Antony, Pulisic or Gakpo from PSV. Give me all of them!! But the need for a forward and another center back are crucial. Don’t even get me started on the backline for United. Hearing rumors Chelsea offered upwards of 60-70 million for Harry Maguire, only to hear United said that “he’s our guy”. I swear, if that’s true, not good.

I must imagine that ten Hag makes multiple changes (HARRY MAGUIRE, LUKE SHAW, MARCUS RASHFORD, BRUNO, RONALDO but only if Martial is available) but I am relying on a shambolic performance from Liverpool, because the only way this United team gets a result vs the enemy is if the enemy beats themselves. 2-2 Draw.

I promise you; I will be back. Too much to say with so little time. Catch Episode 52 of the Rivolution Pod, out now!!!

Until next time, this is Victorious signing off.
